We have decided to spend much of our time in Crete. This is because of the climate, the nature and because of the size of the island.

Having been around the whole island, we chose the village Kritsa. There we found in 2004 a small house with a central location and a magnificent view. The year after we bought the small house, we call "Lemoni". This house we use as a studio and as a guesthouse for our family and close friends. In 2007, we bought a big old historic house, which needed complete renovation. The house "Lemoni" was connected with the "new" house, and in october 2009 we were ready to move into the house. So now it is our home in Kritsa.

Kritsa is the largest village in Crete with almost 3000 people. It is a beautiful traditional village with houses situated in terraces up the hillsides between the olive fields. Since the village is located 375 meters above sea level, there is a fabulous view from a big part of the village towards the green olive fields and the beautiful Mirabello bay, where Agios Nikolaos is 9 km. away. Kritsa has many souvenir shops and tavernas. The village became known after Jules Dassin in 1957 made a film and used the village people in the film.

Kritsa is also well known for the church Panagia Kera from the early 1200s. The church has some og the finest frescoes in Crete.

The village has been awarded a first price for its excellent olive oil. It is also among the 15 most attractive sights in Crete.

On this way we would like to show you, why we so much enjoy the village and the wonderful people, who have taken so exceptionally well against us!
